I had attended a few classes before but this one was far the best one. What helped was that it was a small group of participants and therefore the instructor could give more time to each individual.

Jordan is clearly passionate about photography and really knows his stuff. He was relatable and patient, which I truly appreciated. I would have appreciated a location that was a little more scenic to get a better photos for comparison. Overall, I really enjoyed the class!

    PHOTOGRAPHERS
    Jordan Ellis
Hey, there! My name is Jordan K. Ellis. I am a filmmaker, photographer, and educator based in North Carolina. I have over 14 years of video/photo production experience, working in different areas of the field: cinematography, landscapes, models, portraits, etc. I was honored with a Bachelor's Degree in filmmaking and photography from the Art Institute in 2013. I have worked with different companies and have provided educational workshops, involving film history and photo sessions to students.

My philosophy when it comes to my work is finding "images that quicken the heart," how to engage your viewer. My job is to make creative and unique images, based on ideas I like to use, and with people (or companies) I like to collaborate on. It's always a new learning experience from one person to the next in seeing what kind of potential they have. I'm really excited to be on board.

Jordan Ellis is available for private bookings

Available mainly during the weekends by appointment.

Capturing a photo like this takes a lot of luck, but also a little planning. I noticed flight paths for high altitude jets that run southwest to northeast over my residence. I also noticed that the rising moon often intersects these flight paths, increasing the chances an aircraft might pass in front of the moon. When conditions are right, I pay attention with my camera ready to capture any "close encounters." The photo was taken with a Canon 7D Mark II, paired with a Sigma 160-600mm telephot

Shot during the day, using ND filter and polariser. The cloud cover was ideal and with the light filtering through to provide wonderful highlights on the rocks and water. I was just hanging out to be honest and things were seemingly a little lacklustre until that light came through and everything changed. You just never know!
